26/09/08. New Sites!!!!!!!

The TBT bid for global domination takes another step forward after the aquisition of two new locations!!

Site "B" is an old farm consisting of a house, several out buildings and various bits of farm machinery. There is loads of cover and combat is generaly of a close quarter nature.

Site "C" is some local forrestry commision land which we have been kindly given permission to use (thanks Archie!!). The terrain is very varied from thick pine trees and ferny undergrowth to open ground with long grass. Ideal territory for those big summer campaign days!

Cool eh???

19/04/08. Update.

Another year and another airsoft season! After a long delay i am finally getting round to updating our website!

The main reason for the update is to let all our fellow airsoft players know that Team Black Thistle is now a registered UKARA airsoft site! Its has been a bit of a slog from the initial introduction of the VCR bill to finally have registration and the ability to provided our site members with the documentation they need to purchase there weapons of choice! (Albeit mainly m4s!!!).

As for team activities, we have a busy year planned with some more road trips in the pipeline (i hope!). Our next team game is an evening affair on Wed 23rd of April. All those in attendance should bring suitable illumination! ;)

All information on our games can be obtained via our team forum. Just click the link!!!

08/03/07. CQB Lanark 04 March 07.

Sunday the 4th was our first outing to Winston Barracks in Lanark for some serious close quarter action. We loaded up before sun-up (yawn!) and headed off on our two hour journey to Lanark. We signed in, we kited up and within minutes we were into action!

"Grenade!"...................BOOM!!!

It was up close and personal right from the start as we moved into the Sandhurst building, sweeping the labyrinth of corridors and clearing each room and corner. Grenades were a must and played a vital role in every game.

Then we moved onto The Village, where we engaged in our first taste of FIBUA. Battles were aggressive and noisy as once again grenades and sustained fire proved to be the order of the day.

Overall it was a brilliant day out and recommended to all. The site was great, the games were fast and fluid and the guys in command were friendly, organized, enthusiastic and completely nuts!!! ;)

08/12/06. Campaign Overview.

After a long and bloody struggle, soldiers from the Croatian 1st Border Guard successfully repelled the Serbian threat. They pushed across the border into Serbian territory and claimed several key strategic locations.

The Croatian Army celebrated after their narrow victory. Meanwhile the Serb Forces reconciled and planned their spring offensive.

It was very much a war of attrition on Saturday's campaign. Battles were very hard fought and also very prolonged. The infinite medics rule and the longer time limit made the games completely different from our normal fast paced assaults. Even from game one players were amazed by the body count they had just achieved (and the bbs they used!!!).

Roll on the Spring!

24/11/06. Campaign.

Campaign day is nearly upon us so I thought I should enlighten our recruits to what’s in store. This campaign will differ from previous campaigns. Our usual plot is team A playing an oppressive dictatorship with a bloodthirsty power hungry General (i.e. the baddies!) against team B playing special forces who are engaging in black ops behind enemy lines. Usually games consist of hit and run, escape and evasion or assassination type scenarios but this time however I have opted for a more full-on approach. Basically it is two warring nations “going at it” to gain territory and honour. To represent this, games will be more of a take and hold or gain ground variety. There will be more prolonged engagements with longer time limits and infinite medics to portray the larger scale of the conflict.

I have a brief scenario of our Balkan War campaign for you to download.

See y’all in country.

14/11/06. Updates.

Sunday the 5th marked another outing for Team Black Thistle. As well as shooting seven bells out if each other we took time to make a few improvements to our Fort. We added a few fence panels that were left spare after some building work, which certainly helped to increase the Fort defences. Pics as usual can be found on our Gallery page.

A few of the team have been tempted for an image change and have bought some spanky Multicam. There has been much debate on it's overall effectiveness on our forum, but we like it a lot. Once again check the Gallery for pics and you will also find loads on the forum.

10/10/06. Saturday 7th Game.

Another great afternoon of airsoft action. Condition stayed fair and yet another good turn out made for some fast and furious action. Thanks to Keldon for his running action scenario at the bridge, i think this was the highlight for everyone on the day. As usual i have added some pics to the gallery and there are also a few updates to the armoury page.

17/09/06. Game.

Conditions were favourable and we had another good turn out for Sundays game. There were plenty of close in pistol games and one of our new players , Keldon, was quite happy to play "pass the nade" with his fellow airsofters. ;) Although the day was slightly marred by a few breakdowns, on the whole it was another successful outing enjoyed by all.

A word of warning to all wanabe airsofters: If you really want to play safe and free from injury then..........................STAY AWAY FROM TONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ouch!!!

14/09/06. Update.

Our next game day is Sunday 17th September, it will be a normal skirmish day. Please check our forum for details.

New article from Colibub in the Gun Tech page on how to look after your battery. A useful guide on getting the most from your milliamps! :)

03/09/06 Game.

Another day dawned on another successful skirmish. Numbers were good and the rain stayed away just long enough.

Games were our normal skirmish day assortment of; advance to contact, attack and defend, take and hold type scenarios.

As per the norm you can find all the days highlights posted on our forum and I will be uploading pics to the gallery very shortly.

The highlight of the day had to be when Smiffy.........well.......see for yourselves!

Charge!!!

19/08/06. Updates.

Our Gun Tech page is now up and running thanks to Colibub. His first article is on cosmetic upgrades and accessories. Just click on the GunTech link and check it out.

Our next game day is Sunday the 3rd of September. I will be posting the days highlights and pics on our homepage and on our forum as usual.

08/08/06. A Sting In The Tale.

Last night was very eventful to say the least! As certain play areas are very thick with ferns at the minute we decided to make the most of it and have a CQC themed evening. All games started with both teams being within 20 meters of each other and weaponry was limited to smgs and pistols. Needless to says most of the action was very close indeed as visual range was hindered by the thick foliage. Surprisingly games were not as fast and furious as you would imagine for the range, a degree of stealth and caution was exercised as you literally did not know what was lurking behind the next fern. After contact was made though, the game stepped up a gear and the action was full on, bbs and ferns flying in every direction.

The only eventuality of the evening was when we were moving to another area and one of the players (i.e. Davy!) stepped on a wasps nest and sent a million (or maybe more!) angry wasps into a frenzied stingathon!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As usual I will shortly be putting some of the evening's pics in the gallery. You can already find some on our forum thanks to Colibub.

05/08/06. New Page.

New Links page added. Please feel free to check out our airsoft affiliates.

01/07/06. Game.

Next game is Monday the 7th of August commencing 6pm.

As the undergrowth is quite dense at the moment we are planning a close quarter combat theme, so it's smgs and pistols only. Obviously adequate head, face and body protection should be worn.

As usual more info can be found on our forum. I will shortly be posting a thread on engagement rules.

27/07/06 New Team Member.

As is the tradition when Falla returns from his voyages overseas, he not only returns balance to the force, he also surprises us with a new toy! So what was it this time? Mmmmmmmm249!!!!

The Star M249 mk-II is 1050mm long and weighs 3300g. The box mag holds 2500 bbs and can  also house a 3300ma Battery. The full tech specs are available at http://www.starairsoft.com .

A welcome addition to any team I am sure you'll agree.

I will add some M249 action pics to the gallery next time he lets me borrow it.  ;-)

26/07/06. Update to gallery.

Few more pics of campaign day added to the gallery and a few on the forum courtesy of Mike.

Next game is Monday the 7th of August commencing 6pm. Details to follow.....................

23/07/06 C-Day.

After a long and bloody campaign the Generals reign of terror has finally came to an end (thanks to tone!). Shot in the back! Where was his rear guard? (up front with the action I suspect!)

It took a few late nights with pen and pc but finally the day came and a heroic band of warriors (well, me and the lads!!!) played out the rise and ultimately the downfall of General Ahmed.

Missions saw Blue Team (Special Forces) successfully rescue a US Diplomat (twice!), blow up two installations, defuse a bomb, capture a bunker and finally assassinate the tyrant General Ahmed. Meanwhile Red Team (General Ahmed's Militia) managed to murder an entire village! and protect a bridge from Blues demolition team.

Overall the day went pretty much to plan, give or take a few unexpected twists, and all added up to make an excellent day. Plans are already in motion for the next one..........................

Oh! and Blue Team won! (No Smiffy! the points system WAS fair!!!)   ;-)

21/07/06 More updates to gallery.

A few new pics from Colibub and Smiffy for the gallery. I have changed the layout a bit too.

Not long till "C-Day"!!!

16/07/06: Notes about the 22nd.

I have been busy creating a bit of background for our big campaign on the 22nd:

The country of Sudan has been thrown into chaos after the disappearance of President Omar al-Bashir. His private helicopter went “missing” over thetropical rainforests of Uganda .

General Ahmed of the SPLA (Sudan Peoples Liberation Army) has seizedcontrol and has declared martial law.

His first action was to publicly execute the remaining heads of government. SPLA militia have set up check points on all major border crossings and  have taken control of Khartoum International Airport .

Reuters News Agency broadcasts a statement from General Ahmed proclaiming he is the “Saviour of Sudan”. He talks about his hatred for the west and vows to create a “true free united Sudan ”. He announces all

“non nationals must leave Sudan or face severe retribution”.

America demands the safe release of all American and British civilians trapped within Sudan . American troops on humanitarian operations in Ethiopia have been put on high alert.

Negotiations are on going……

08/07/06: My first entry!!!

Firstly I would like to say welcome you to TeamBlackThistle. I am hoping to keep a record of all our games and outings on this page so the world knows what we are up to.

We are planning a big Mil Sim Campaign day on the 22nd of July. Its been a "work in progress" for a few weeks now. We have been busy

building a fort and some bunkers for the event. I will try to get some pictures uploaded shortly.

It's SMIFFY!!!!!!!!!!!
